The American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) has announced that its popular Green Plumbing Design (GPD) certificate program is now available entirely on demand on ASPE Education. This new self-paced online program will enable professionals to earn their GPD certificate at their own speed, in their own timeframe.
Developed by Doug Nelson, PE, GPD, instructor of the previous in-person GPD workshops, this new online program contains seven multi-part modules that will help professionals refine their sustainable design skills in the following areas:
Once professionals have completed each of the modules in sequence, an exam will test the knowledge they have gained. If they successfully pass the exam, they will be awarded the GPD certificate, and will be able to use the GPD designation after their names.
Eligibility
Professionals must be either Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) or a Professional Engineer (PE) to be eligible to earn the GPD certificate. The cost is $500 for ASPE members and $600 for nonmembers. Users can access the program on ASPE Education.
About the GPD Certificate
The Green Plumbing Design certificate program, sponsored by ASPE and the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), is for engineers and designers with advanced skills in sustainable plumbing system design and consulting. The GPD certificate denotes professionals with a high level of experience and training in sustainable practices and signifies those who are dedicated to ensuring the efficient use of our precious water resources via water-conserving plumbing system designs for commercial and residential applications.
