Showing off their trucks comes naturally for contractors. Here’s a roundup of our latest batch. And take note: Plenty of readers say their trucks are the “best.” But this is no contest and we think everyone’s truck looks pretty great.
Archer Mechanical Inc.
Salt Lake City, Utah
“Well, where do we start? I mean ... just look at it! The service vans at Archer Mechanical are intended to stand out. Just like the technicians behind the wheel, our design is clean, crisp, and professional. When modeling our vans, we went with a design representing our great State of Utah, from the mountains to the desert.
“Archer Mechanical was founded in 1987, and over the years, has become one of the top commercial mechanical contractors in Utah. A little over three years ago, we formed our Service and Maintenance Division.
Today, we have 13 skilled technicians and two retrofit superintendents servicing our clients all over the state.
“Keeping customer service in mind at all times, we go above and beyond to provide them with a product and service that is second to none.” Kent Harmon
Balkan Plumbing
Richmond Hill, New York
“We are NYC's largest house sewer and water service line company. We employ roughly 100 people, and operate with a ‘team first’ philosophy that is devoted to serving our customers. We are also NYC's oldest such company that has operated under the same name, founded in 1952 and being incorporated in 1960.
“By the way, my father, Joseph L. Balkan, served in the Navy Seabees during WWII. When he started the business, he modified his beloved Seabee logo to make it his company logo.
“Somehow the Seabee logo of a bee carrying a machine gun didn’t seem ‘customer friendly,’ so he replaced it with a wrench. As the company eventually evolved to primarily involve excavation, the bee eventually carried a shovel.
The family joke is that we only use the bee with the machine gun when customers don’t pay. Through good times and bad times alike, Joe built a reputation for doing what he said, and when he said he’d do it. He always completed his contracts as promised and treated his clients warmly and fairly. Most times a handshake was his contract. “ David Balkan

Bono Plumbing
Wentzville, Missouri
“Bono Plumbing, LLC., is family owned and operated since 2014 by me and my wife, Angie Bono. I’m a licensed master plumber who is a third-generation plumber with 25 years of personal experience in the industry. And I’m also a certified backflow device tester.
“We embrace the hard work ethic, integrity and philosophy that was taught by my father, who had his own plumbing company Bono and Sons Plumbing years ago: “Treat your customers fair and honest, the same as you would want to be treated if you were the customer.”
“Our No. 1 priority is continuing to strive for our customer’s satisfaction. Our daily goal is to exceed our customers’ expectations from the initial phone call to the final clean up.
“We truly believe that each contract is an agreement not between a business and customer, but between partners who wish to create a close and mutually beneficial long-term relationship.
“This will create a win–win for our customers and us.” Bob Bono
Carrboro Plumbing
Carrboro, North Carolina
“Carrboro Plumbing was started in 2007 by my husband, Chris Kreutzer, and has grown to 12 full-time employees today. We provide residential and commercial repairs, remodeling and new construction services in Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Durham, North Carolina.”
“Chris spent many summers in high school and college working for his parents’ plumbing company, Woodbridge Plumbing. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 2001, Chris went to work full time at Woodbridge Plumbing for several years before moving to North Carolina.
“Since the days of working from his mom’s minivan, Carrboro Plumbing has grown into an award-winning local business.
“We love our logo and the way our graphic designer, Brigit Kreutzer with BK+Co, made the van design so eye-catching and striking.
Back in the old days when we only had one truck, customers would stillcomment on how they saw our trucks (plural) all over town! The clean and uncluttered design directs folks to the most important information - our company name, phone number and website. Triangle Sign does great work with our wraps. We have been very satisfied with how they have held up over the years.” Emily Kreutzer
Dymek’s Freedom Plumbing
Anaheim, California
“We are a family owned and operated service and repair plumbing and drain cleaning company. Our tag line is ‘Old Fashioned Values with Today's Technology.’
With almost 50 years of experience in the plumbing industry, Dymek’s Freedom Plumbing specialties include electronic slab leak detection, slab leak repair, Epipe epoxy water line restoration, sewer video inspection and location.
“We don’t try to up sell you, in fact, most of the time we find only a good cleaning from a clean out and a yearly maintenance will solve most problems. We are true to our tag line.
“We proudly have nine apprentices we sponsor in the PHCC-OC-Inland Empire apprenticeship program and hope to see five of them graduate next year.” Ron Dymek
Element Air
Louisville, KentuckyWe never did receive anything from Anthony Wright about his business. But his truck can’t go by the wayside just because of that. Based on his Instagram and Facebook pages, that’s definitely Wright on the side of the truck striking the patented “Scientech” pose. He even instructs his techs exactly how to strike the pose. He also seems to have a liking for Derby City Pizza Co., the company’s “authorized pizza parlor.” You can see what we mean here: bit.ly/3az0BDD.
Gleason Plumbing Heating Air Electric
Wauconda, Illinois “Our van wrap was done by TG signs in Wauconda, Illinois. We have billboards with similar coloring to go along with the truck. I wanted a van that would stand out and be seen from a mile away. I think we achieved that with this design.
“Also being in Chicago, orange, blue and white is a popular combination that people recognize. [EDITOR’S NOTE: OK, so the Bears started out looking pretty bad, but they’ve turned it around. Right? Right?] We used to suffer from ‘white van syndrome,’ but this I think is the best-looking van in our area.
“Our business has been around since 1950. We added plumbing and generator services in 2021 to expand our service base. We service Lake, McHenry and Cook counties in and around Chicagoland.” Jeremy Lewis
Harris
St. Paul, Minnesota
“Back in 2018, Harris Companies refreshed its brand and streamlined its name. You’ll now see us simply called Harris.
“Our effort unified and strengthened 19 companies across the country who now use the same name, share resources and provide a full range of in-house capabilities.
“Our trucks are recognized for their simplicity and our customers know the name as a trusted partner who consistently provides excellence. We’re proud to offer the strength and stability of a national mechanical contractor with the personal commitment of a local business. Watch for our motto on our trucks across the US, ‘Safety First, Last and Always.’ ” Tom Danley
Heisco Plumbing Contractors
Williamstown, New Jersey “Our dump truck is an integral part of our operation when we are doing underground utilities (water/sewers) and gives us the versatility of getting tools and materials out to site.
“We can store our shoring jacks and pumps in tool boxes as well as shovels digging bars etc. We can also get rid of unstable soils and concrete and bring in new fill and blacktop for temporary streets repairs.” Christopher Heisler

“Pat's Plumbing has been in business since 1988. We are woman-owned and -operated and moving into the second generation of being family owned. We serve the Puget Sound region of Washington State doing residential service and repair.

Paws Plumbing
San Diego, California “Paws Plumbing prides itself on its commitment to offering top quality workmanship and friendly customer service.
“The San Diego market is very competitive, so we had to differentiate ourselves in a way to stand out. Given our love for dogs and the large dog ownership in San Diego we decided to come up with Paws Plumbing.
“Customers love the fact that we are active in the community and contribute to the Helen Woodward Animal Center. Our sleek service vehicles are easy to spot with our memorable name and mascot donned on the side. We frequently receive calls from customers who love our mission and service.” Nick Dexter
Perfectemp Air Conditioning & Pool Heating
Delray Beach, Florida
“PerfecTemp Air Conditioning & Pool Heating is a family owned HVAC company serving Palm Beach county for more than 15 years.
“In 2019 one of the partners left, making it the perfect time for a fresh look.
“PerfecTemp grew through referrals. Marketing efforts had yielded a weak ROI, so we went back to basics with Dan Antonelli and KickCharge Creative. We had a name but no brand! South Florida is full of white contractor vans. We wanted our seven trucks to be colorful rolling billboards that would stand out and connect with our community.
“We specialize in AC, but have a large pool heating clientele. The new brand unites both sectors seamlessly. Narwhals, aka, the unicorn of the sea, use their horn/tusk as a thermometer. Customers tells us they ‘love our happy Narwhal.’ Our cheeky tagline reiterates our belief that everyone deserves “Service that’s Flipping Fantastic!”
“We went all in-new website, uniforms, collateral, social media. Google views and new customer calls have grown exponentially. Kids point the trucks our to their parents, and neighbors come over and ask for business cards during service calls. It’s the best investment we’ve made in our business.
“Plus our Narwhal is just so darn cute!" Jack and Kiki Curtin

Watkinsville, Georgia

That’s me and my brother, Jimmy, on the side. We’re 10 years apart, and he started working with me while he was at the University of Georgia.
“He would take early morning classes and work with me three to four days a week. He finished college and came on full time. He’s my business partner now. Go Dawgs!” Chris Summers
Vigilante Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning
Brooklyn, New York
“We are a service, repair and equipment installation company. Doing mostly residential and light commercial work. We are running 20 vehicles, including sales people.
“The company was founded by my grandfather and his brother in 1927. My brother and I purchased the company from our dad 20 years ago.
“To be honest I have been doing this for 40-some odd years and the team of people I get to work with every day are so dialed in and engaged it truly feels like a blessing.
“Back in 2012, we decided to focused on the culture of our company as we believed either you build your culture or it gets built for you. It was a long road, but once we hit that tipping point, everything just clicked into place.
“I am one of the few company owners you won’t hear complaining about finding people to work. People want to work here! I know this may sound boastful, but sometime I just feel so lucky.” Salvatore Vigilante
