The National Association of Steel Pipe Distributors (NASPD) will host a Steel Pipe Basic Education Course (SPBEC), and an Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) Specialty Education Course, Oct. 18-20, 2021, in Houston. Providing continued education — especially in times where the majority of steel mills no longer host these courses — provides an opportunity for continued growth within the field, as well as an opportunity to learn about the field for those considering the channel in their career path.
The SPBEC will introduce attendees to the world of steel pipe by offering an overview of its uses and distinct language, production and certification, value-added products, and its final distribution concepts and methods. The OCTG is designed to introduce attendees to the use of steel pipe in the extraction of gas and oil. During the course, participants will be introduced to the methods of manufacturing, heat treatment, quality control, and end preparation of the pipes. Both courses meet the standards and requirements of the Registered Continuing Education Program (RCEP).
Offered to both members and non-members of NASPD, registration is easy. Click here to register, and for more information, visit https://naspd.com/.
The NASPD is a national trade association representing the steel pipe and tubular products distribution industry and its related businesses. Since 1975, the NASPD has provided a forum for pipe distribution companies and industry professionals to come together, learn, network, share concerns and provide thought leadership in an industry that touches our lives on a daily basis, the steel pipe industry.
