WASHINGTON — The International Code Council (ICC) and the ICC Evaluation Service had another successful year exhibiting at the International Builders’ Show (IBS) and the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), which were co-located as part of the Second Annual Design and Construction Week (DCW). There were more than 80,000 attendees during the shows.
As supporting organizations of the event, 20 ICC and ICC-ES staff attended and assisted numerous manufacturers with questions about the ICC-ES building product evaluation and listing programs as well as the plumbing, mechanical and fuel gas (PMG) listing programs. Visitors learned about the many unparalleled customer service initiatives and value of the ICC-ES marks. The interest in these programs resulted in a number of onsite applications in addition to many manufacturers who committed to new applications for product evaluation based on their appreciation of the efforts ICC-ES continues to make on behalf of clients to advance their experiences and interests.
“We are pleased with the attention from new clients for our programs,” said ICC-ES President Shahin Moinian. “New and existing clients recognize the value of ICC-ES reports and have confidence that code officials more readily accept them as the gold standard for third-party certification.”
ICC CEO Dominic Sims, CBO, and ICC Executive Vice President Michael Gardner participated in an active discussion during the DCW Roundtable, and helped generate many ideas of how the residential industry can work together.
At a dinner hosted by ICC and ICC-ES senior management, including former ICC President Ron Lynn, the importance of current and potential clients to ICC-ES was highlighted to reinforce the unrelenting commitment to best serve customer needs. ICC-ES clients spoke often of the vast improvements that ICC-ES has made in the areas of customer service and report turnaround time.
A nonprofit, limited liability company, ICC-ES is the U.S. leading evaluation service for innovative building materials, components and systems.
