KAI has announced the expansion of its Engineering Group in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas with the addition of Mechanical Designer Sam Haddadin, EIT and Electrical Designers Mark Steele and Singee Nguyen.
"Our DFW-based MEP Engineering business continues on a rapid growth trajectory — and our demand for top talent is ongoing. KAI is fortunate to have another infusion of skilled industry people join our practice with the latest addition of Sam, Mark and Singee in our Mechanical and Electrical teams," said KAI Managing Partner Brad Simmons, FAIA. "Not only do these individuals bring additional capabilities and skillsets, they are an energetic group of young practitioners that are aligned with the KAI culture and mission. We are thrilled to have Sam, Mark and Singee on board with us in DFW."
Sam Haddadin, EIT, Mechanical Designer
As mechanical designer, Haddadin will design the layout of project mechanical systems, including production lines, HVAC and plumbing. He will also coordinate designs with in-house and outside engineers and subcontractors as needed and review completed work on the jobsite.
With six years of experience, he boasts an extensive understanding of field conditions related to the pharmaceutical and food plant industries. Prior to KAI, Haddadin worked as a maintenance supervisor at Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. where he designed mechanical systems and oversaw shop activities, including sheet metal, pipe fitting and mechanical repairs.
In his native country of Jordan, he was a facilities and maintenance supervisor at pharmaceutical company Dar Al Dawa Development & Investment Co. Ltd. and a mechanical design engineer for Mostaqbal Engineering & Environmental Consultants.
Haddadin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Hashemite University in Amman, Jordan and is currently an engineer in training having recently passed the Mechanical Professional Engineer exam in HVAC and Refrigeration.
He is married to wife Sara Elsharayha. During his spare time, he enjoys watching action movies, reading the Bible, swimming and lifting weights.
Mark Steele, Electrical Designer
In Steele's new role as electrical designer, he will be responsible for lighting and controls design, power distribution, photovoltaic design, fire alarm design, short circuit and fault current analysis, and network design.
Steele has an impressive 17 years of electrical design experience, having most recently worked as a senior electrical designer for Eikon Consulting Group. He has worked on projects in a variety of sectors, most notably transportation, education, retail, food service, healthcare and government.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and he is a member of industry associations Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and Illuminating Engineering Society (IES).
Singee Nguyen, Electrical Designer
In his new position, Nguyen will work closely with senior electrical team members to provide drafting and design support for project electrical systems and power distribution.
Prior to KAI, Nguyen worked as an electrical technician for IPDisplays in Allen, Texas. He has a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his parents, two older sisters and two dogs. He also likes to tinker with 3D printing/design and electronics, playing video games and building computers.
