We are excited to announce the next installment of the PHCPPros webinar series! Sponsored and presented by ThermOmegaTech, "Managing Water Flow in DHWS When Performing Thermal Disinfection" will take place on March 4 at 10 a.m. CST. The webinar will be led by ThermOmegaTech's Tom Ruggierio, manager of business development, and Aaron Markward, sales and product manager.
Ruggierio and Markward's presentation will explore the confusion and uncertainty that are prevalent in the plumbing design community regarding the best approach to controlling the thermal disinfection process. Thermal disinfection is used to mitigate Legionella in domestic hot water recirculation systems, especially in occupied healthcare facilities. This webinar will introduce two potential approaches, using valving and control components to address this issue. Automated solutions such as these will significantly help to minimize down time and resources while maintaining a safe environment. These methods can also facilitate a more standardized approach for addressing this problem.
Ruggierio is a graduate of Drexel University. He has a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and a Master of Science in engineering management. Ruggierio has more than 35 years of experience in industrial automation, fluid power and plumbing/HVAC industries. He has conducted dozens of webinars and has written several articles regarding designing and balancing domestic hot water systems. Ruggierio is a member of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE), Fluid Power Distributor Association, Association of High-Tech Distributors, GPAEE – Greater Philadelphia Association of Energy Engineers, and the School District of Philadelphia S.T.E.M. Planning Committee.
Markward joined the ThermOmegaTech team in 2018 after graduating from Temple University’s Fox School of Business with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration. In his current role, he supports 24 manufacturer’s representative agencies across the United States and Canada to help advance the plumbing industry to the most efficient solutions for plumbing designs. An active member of ASPE, Markward has taught classes on domestic hot water recirculation at his local ASPE Chapter to young plumbing designers. In addition, he has presented dozens of CEU-accredited presentations on DHWS designs and balancing options to engineering firms across the country. Markward is also a member of the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC), Association of Independent Manufacturers’/ Representatives (AIM/R), and the American Supply Association (ASA).
This webinar is part of PHCPPros' special series that has kept hundreds of readers educated and engaged in the face of COVID-19 as they log on to learn from plumbing, heating, cooling, and piping (PHCP) professionals. Register for the free webinar at bit.ly/3c1agVy.
