The Gould Company, a leading HVAC rep agency in the Northeast since 1962, has reached an agreement with MCB Sales of Glens Falls, New York, under which representation in New England of three prominent HVAC brands will transfer from MCB to Gould.
Effective Jan. 4, 2021, the needs of New England distributors that carry Atco Rubber Products, fire damper products from Lloyd Industries and Trion Air Bear filters will be served by The Gould Company’s experienced field representatives, Peter Gould and Rich Wunder.
“It’s been our good fortune to work with the leading HVAC manufacturers in a diverse array of product categories — adding Atco, Lloyd and Trion extends that tradition for us,” said Peter Gould, president. “In strengthening our agency with these three outstanding lines, we’ve arrived at a complementary mix of products that offers excellent synergies.”
Mutually beneficial buyout agreements between independent HVAC rep agencies aren’t common — this deal was over two years in the making. “The excellent reputation built up by Mike Giacchetta with the companies served by MCB Sales came together with the trust our company has likewise been able to build over the years,” Gould said. “The result is a new structure that makes sense for all concerned.”
Facilitating negotiations between the two agencies was a fortunate absence of conflicting lines. “We’ve long made it a practice to limit the number of manufacturers we represent,” Gould noted. “The goal has been to establish compatibility among the products we sell and avoid any problem of competing lines.”
The Gould Company is now positioned to bring a portfolio of best-in-class manufacturers to the distributors and contractors of New England.
“Although we sell only to distributors, The Gould Company’s record of success is a result of calling on contractors to educate them on valuable product offerings and innovations,” Gould emphasized. “We support the distributor’s business by working with contractors to increase their knowledge of products we rep.”
