Bob Mader, who has spent his career covering the PHCP and HVACR industries, joins PHCPPros as the editor of Plumbing Engineer.
“The plumbing engineering profession is at the confluence of seminal events in disease control and prevention, ensuring safe drinking water, and energy and water conservation,” Mader said. “I’m looking forward to working with plumbing engineers, manufacturers and the model code bodies to advance the profession. My goal is to make Plumbing Engineer an indispensable information source for plumbing engineers.”
Mader was the longtime editor of Contractor magazine and as the editorial director oversaw Contractor, Contracting Business, HPAC Engineering, as well as supplements such as Radiant Living Magazine and Green Mechanical Contractor.
He also served as editor of RSES Journal, the peer-reviewed technical publication of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society.
As a freelance writer, his work has appeared in all of the major industry publications, including PHC News.
Throughout his career, he has focused on green and sustainable technology, codes and standards, and the issue of safeguarding our drinking water. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with an A.B. in American Studies with a Communications Concentration.
