In 2019, PHCPPros launched the "Millennials On The Move" honorary listing in Plumbing Engineer, PHC News and The Wholesaler magazines. The listing was created to shed light on what is now the largest generation in the workforce, while also launching bigger conversations on topics such as industry recruiting, talent retention, leadership development and more. This year, PHCPPros is expanding that conversation outside of our industry with a convenient roundup of the millennial news, stories, and trends that catch our attention each month.
We found that much of this month's conversation around millennials centered on personal finance. Last month's roundup showed that the generation is breaking norms in this area — and we're seeing that trend continue below. Additionally, in a recent survey, nearly 75 percent of millennials reported sending some kind of financial aid to family or friends or donating to a nonprofit since the COVID-19 pandemic began, which was the highest rate among any of the generations polled.
