The University of Arlington and the city of Arlington, Texas, are using a robotic-sensor system to assesses area pipelines.
The system from RedZone Robotics uses high-definition closed-circuit cameras, laser profiling and sonar to assess the condition of large-diameter pipeline. The data is analyzed to efficiently plan cleaning and repair operations, extending the life of the pipeline system as well as decreasing overall maintenance costs.
