Reeves-Wiedeman Co. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Tallman Co. of Sedalia, Missouri. Tallman, with roots going back to 1919 in St. Louis, features four mid-Missouri locations in Warrensburg, Sedalia, Laurie, and Osage Beach. These locations will join the Reeves-Wiedeman network of 22 branches covering western Missouri and Kansas serving the professional users of plumbing, pipe, valves, and fittings.
“Tallman Company has a rich tradition of providing quality products and second-to-none service to its customers. It’s why they were such a great fit to become part of Reeves-Wiedeman. Together, our companies have 225+ years of combined plumbing distribution experience,” said Kurt Wiedeman, president and CEO of Reeves-Wiedeman Co.
“It’s a great fit. Both companies are longtime family owned businesses with a culture of dedication to their associates and the communities we serve,” said Dan Tallman, president and CEO of Tallman.
The asset sale began with a conversion of Warrensburg and Sedalia on Feb. 1 and Mar. 1, 2020, respectively. The two Ozark locations—Laurie and Osage Beach—will follow in late spring/summer 2020. The new Reeves-Wiedeman locations will enjoy inventory replenishment including tens of thousands of products from the company’s 60,000-square-foot distribution center in Lenexa, Kansas.
Reeves-Wiedeman Co., headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, was founded in 1887 and ranks among the oldest continuously operating companies in Kansas City.
