Interplay Learning, a leading provider of online training for skilled trades utilizing virtual reality (VR) and 3D simulations, is pleased to announce internationally recognized HVAC leader Scott J. Boxer has been appointed to its advisory board. Boxer has more than three decades of experience that includes an unbroken track record of growth, turnarounds and profits as the P&L leader of HVAC manufacturing/distribution/service businesses of $40 million to $1.4 billion.
Boxer has successfully led the largest divisions of industry leaders Lennox and York, while also having an impressive history advising CEOs and boards for critical growth. He retired as president and CEO of Service Experts Inc. in 2017, after helping close the sale of the organization in 2016 to Toronto-based EnerCare. Boxer partnered with American Capital Ltd., a publicly-traded private equity firm, to lead the buy-out of Service Experts Inc. from Lennox International Inc. Prior to the original buy-out, he served from 2003 to 2010 as president and chief operating officer of Service Experts. In addition, he served as president of Lennox Industries from 2000 to 2003. Before joining Lennox, Boxer spent 26 years at York International (now part of Johnson Controls). He was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) in 2011.
“I’m looking forward to collaborating with the visionary leadership team at Interplay Learning,” Boxer said. “Their platform delivers exceptional value by being the fastest way the mechanical, industrial and electrical industries can achieve a skilled workforce. It brings a high level of ROI to these industries, as reflected in their rapidly expanding and impressive global customer list. Their disruptive technology, with no other similar product like it in the marketplace, is producing results which were previously unachievable. I’m excited to work with Interplay Learning as it continues to close the skills gap, improve companies’ bottom lines, and has a profound impact on the market."
“We’re thrilled to welcome Scott to our Advisory Board and his input will be invaluable,” said Doug Donovan, CEO of Interplay Learning. “His deep experience in the HVAC industry over the past 30 years is unparalleled and his fresh insight will be critical as Interplay Learning continues to experience exponential growth due to our Virtual Reality expertise and impressive product pipeline that rapidly produces business value for companies in the skilled trades.”
