Ferguson and Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) have agreed to extend their community partnership for three more years. The two organizations will continue to work together to build and donate specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 veterans. Ferguson, which has supported HFOT since 2016, will now serve as the official plumbing supplier of the organization through 2022, providing nearly $18,000 in finished product for each home and $100,000 annually.
“Our veterans have bravely stood in harm’s way and, along with their families, sacrificed to make our country safer,” said CEO Kevin Murphy. “Through our partnership with Homes For Our Troops, we have a chance to give back. It is our privilege to support the mission and the tremendous work of this organization.”
Most of these veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or traumatic brain injury. Homes are equipped with more than 40 major special adaptations, including wider halls and doorways, safe rooms, roll-under sinks and counters and pull-down shelving, and are designed to help veterans live independently. HFOT builds homes where the veteran chooses to live and continues its relationship with the veteran after the home is completed to assist them with rebuilding their lives.
“We are thrilled to continue to have Ferguson on board as a National Partner,” said Tom Landwermeyer, HFOT president and brigadier general (USA, retired). “Having recently renewed and expanded our partnership, Ferguson’s contributions of kitchen and bath products provide us with tremendous cost savings, ultimately helping us advance our mission of building and donating specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans.”
Ferguson’s partnership aligns with its Ferguson Cares mission to support veterans with specially adapted custom homes and neighbors in need with shelter and affordable housing. The company has also established many impactful partnerships that address the housing issue at the local level.
