The Macomb Group Inc. announced on Nov. 29 that it acquired the operations of Smith Metal & Supply Inc. d/b/a Richburg Supply Co., a well-regarded distributor of pipe, valves and fittings to industrial customers, located in Richburg, South Carolina.

“Since our expansion in to North Carolina in 2016, and subsequent opening of a new 80,000 square foot distribution center in Charlotte last January, we’ve been focused on establishing operations in South Carolina. Richburg Supply provided a unique opportunity to not only access attractive new customers in South Carolina, but also to enhance the strength of our team in the southeast,” said Bill McGivern, CEO of The Macomb Group.

J.T. Smith, president and owner of Richburg Supply Co., said, “Our reputation with some of the customers we share in common is what initially prompted the call from The Macomb Group. After several meetings, it was evident that they could provide the resources to accelerate the growth of Richburg Supply and in the process provide new growth opportunities for my employees.”
