The Chicago Sun-Times recently featured a story on Cliff Bruckner, Plumbers Local 30 member and the fifth generation to work for family business, Chas. F. Bruckner and Son Plumbing.
“I feel that the expectations from the general public of us is still someone with a plunger over his shoulder coming in when a little old lady might have a clogged toilet,” says Bruckner. “But that’s not really what we do.”
The Chicago business has been family owned and operated and located at the same address since opening its doors in 1890.
A picture on the company’s website shows Cliff, winning first place in the 2008 Plumbers’ Joint Apprenticeship Committee’s annual apprenticeship contest.
Cliff is now one of six Bruckners employed at Chas F. Bruckner and Son Plumbing. The company currently employs Local 130 and 501 plumbers, Local 150 operating engineers and union laborers. The company also boasts an experienced and dedicated office staff.
Bruckner Plumbing is a member of the Plumbing Contractors Association, the Illinois Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors, the Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Authority of Illinois and the Plumbing Council of Chicagoland.
