Scott West, vice president and member of the Turtle & Hughes Executive Committee, has been named president of Turtle & Hughes Integrated Supply (THIS). THIS is a division of Turtle & Hughes, one of the nation's largest independent electrical and industrial distributors. The announcement was made jointly by Chairman and Co-CEO Jayne Millard and Co-CEO Kathleen Shanahan.
"Over the past year, Scott has demonstrated his strong leadership by building a highly professional and experienced team to support our existing integrated supply customers and grow our pipeline of new business opportunities," said Shanahan. "In making this decision, there was no better candidate than Scott who embodies all of the qualities we look for in the next generation of company leadership."
West joined THIS in September 2018 as vice president, business development. Since then, his accomplishments include reorganizing the supply chain function with a focus on category management and supplier relationship management (SRM) principles; streamlining the operations leadership team into client dedicated groups to improve service and communications; initiating a comprehensive standard operating process (SOP) to strengthen the division's operational foundation; assisting with content acquisition for the Turtle e-Catalog solution; and constructing a framework for Master Data Governance to implement standards and improve quality of operational data.
West has close to 25 years of recognized success in manufacturing, integrated supply and consulting. Prior to joining THIS, West was senior vice president of Synovos in Radnor, Pennsylvania. He has a bachelor's degree and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Youngstown State University. West has an IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
West succeeds Richard McQuatters, a veteran of THIS, who will continue in a senior advisory role focusing on customer relationship management strategy, continuous improvement activities and assisting with business development.
"Rick has been with THIS almost since its inception and has held leadership positions both at the site and corporate level. As he enters a new phase of his career, we owe him our heartfelt gratitude for his loyalty over the past two decades and for continuously driving integrated supply excellence to our customers," commented Millard.
