Air Conditioning Contractors of America has released a new version of their operating procedures for, Standards Development of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America Educational Institute. These procedures are out for public review with a comment deadline of Oct. 14.
ACCA, an ANSI member and Accredited Standards Developer, has submitted revisions to its currently accredited operating procedures for documenting consensus on ACCA-sponsored American National Standards, under which it was last reaccredited in 2013. This industry-consensus Standards support the indoor environment, commercial refrigeration applications (food preservation, retail refrigeration, etc.), and energy efficiency.
ACCA Standards promote comfortable, safe, and energy efficient buildings and refrigeration applications by addressing the proper design, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair and replacement of HVACR equipment systems. Recognizing that building components and systems function interactively, such standards may include focus on optimizing the whole building as a system.
As the revisions appear to be substantive in nature, the reaccreditation process is initiated. A copy of the proposed Standard can be downloaded HERE.
Public comments on the revised procedures may be submitted to Danny Halel, ACCA Manager of Standards at danny.halel@acca.org with a copy to the ExSC Recording Secretary at Jthompso@ANSI.org, by October 14, 2019.
