A few months ago, we asked our readers to show off their trucks. Boy, did they. We’ve made this request in the past, but we got a lot more this time around. Here’s a collection of most of them. It’s not so much a contest for “best looking” as much as it is a celebration of the creativity that goes into an important business asset for getting techs from Point A to Point B, and gaining consumer attention along the way.
Aire Serv
Corona/Orange County, Calif.
“In order to stand out, we are committed to looking the part, from the uniforms we wear to the trucks we drive.
“Aire Serv vehicles are equal parts beauty and function. Their minimalist design features a crisp, white base with striking red and blue accents, much like that of an ambulance that transports our expert technicians with care. After all, “We’re like EMTs for your HVAC!”
“Our consistent look and feel puts customers at ease. With an on-the-way alert 30 minutes before the technician's arrival, customers know exactly who to look for and when to expect the Aire Serv truck to pull up to their home or business.
Customers also know when the Aire Serv truck arrives, it will never be parked in their driveways. Accidental oil stains are a burden, and we know great customer service is in the details. We care for our customers like we care for our vehicles, and when you see our trucks drive by, you'll know there's something different about us.”

Albert Nahman Services
Berkeley, Calif.
“I began using the meditating plumber logo about five years ago along with the words “Plumbing Peace of Mind.” I came up with the concept during a period when I was regularly attending daily hour-long meditation sessions. I had a local tee shirt/design company execute the idea, which became a local hit.
“I felt that the “peaceful plumber” conveyed not only how we wanted to represent our company, but also what we wanted our customers to feel when we were in their home.
“Around the same time we received our HVAC license and then developed a “Comfort Peace of Mind” logo to complement the Plumbing Peace of Mind concept. We are currently using both logos on every new vehicle.
“We have recently shifted the name Albert Nahman Plumbing and Heating to DBA Albert Nahman Services to reflect that we do a lot more than just plumbing and to leave an opening to integrate other trades into our services. I credit Mike Agugliero from CEO Warrior for introducing that concept to us.
“The latest vehicle design was done through an online contest with 99 Designs where I worked with the winning designer to complete it to my satisfaction. The wrap was executed by Sign Zoo in Florida and installed by a local company, Dolphin Graphics. We have primarily been using high roof Dodge Promaster 2500s since 2014 although we have incorporated a standard roof recently.
“By the way, the new color scheme reflects that of the Golden State Warriors; we are big fans!”

Alternate Design Plumbing Inc.
Orange City, Fla.
“Our fleet is slowly being converted over to these amazing Ford Transits.
“These trucks are unbelievably user-friendly for our technicians, but most importantly, as moving billboards, it gives the impression that we have trucks everywhere.”
“We have been told they look like ambulances, which we find to be the perfect answer, since we are definitely coming to the rescue when we show up in these trucks.
“The performance of these trucks, the spaciousness and the wide open sides for branding and advertising gives us a great first impression for our clients and makes a mark in our communities when we enter. The bullet points on the rear doors gives travelers in traffic with us the opportunity to see the services we provide and a phone number to call at their convenience.” – Laura Engstrom
Barker Heating & Cooling
Livermore, Calif.
“Last April 2018, we re-launched our company under a new consumer-focused name and wanted to bring a new voice to our company. This started with a new truck wrap that would highlight our new logo for brand awareness.
“This vehicle was the result of my team’s effort to learn more about a field they weren't experts in and team up with vendors outside of our training. The result is a van that can stand out from over a mile away, a logo that reminds you of the name of the company, and a badge that shows professionalism for our industry.
“I'm very proud of our team that had input into this design, our installers, customer service team, and our vendors that brought all of our vision together.”

Crystal Air
Weaverville, Calif.
“I love this truck. I chose a ProMaster Van because first of all, I wanted something I could stand up in. For a majority of my career I worked out of a passenger van. Those vans come with a myriad of limitations with backaches being the foremost. Also, no matter how organized and clean you can be there is NEVER enough space to keep a stocked and tidy truck.
“The truck came completely naked, meaning NOTHING was inside. I put a lot of thought into how I wanted to set the inside of this truck up so that I would ‘never be without.’ I live in a very rural area and so jobs can sometimes be an hour away. There is ABSOLUTLY nothing worse than to have to tell your customer on a 115-degree day that you can’t finish the AC because you have to go back and get a PVC elbow you forgot to put on the truck! Everything I need is on the truck and there is room enough so that unless I get lazy it’s always clean and tidy. The truck can carry pretty much any install equipment for a job.
“As for the outside, that’s me on the back, and I’m ready to work for my customers, as you can see. Pretty much where everybody knows everybody in our town, so my customers get a kick out of seeing me on the back. Even people just passing through town get a chuckle and I get comments about the back picture every day, which is fine with me, its great advertisement.”
The logo has been updated through the years and where it used to be rather stylized has become a rather realistic picture of our Trinity Alps. It’s easily recognizable by our customers as our home mountains and has become easily recognizable in associated with Crystal Air.
“My goal was that every time customers look to the Trinity Alps (which no one can miss) a subliminal association might remind them of Crystal Air. My lettering is clear and clean. The diamond plating gives it a little industrial or mechanical look.
“The name of the business is also a bit of a spin and play on words. My name is Reno, but Reno Air sounded like an airline. However, my wife’s name in Crystal so we took on the name of Crystal Air, clear and clean. In a small town, my wife Crystal is almost synonymous with Crystal Air.
“Anyway, I’ll be 58 this year so I figure I’ve got a least another 10 years in me (because I love my customers and what I do!!!) and I hope its all going to be working out of THIS truck.”

Herring Heating and Air Conditioning
Mount Olive, N.C.
“Anyone who sees one of our vehicles will automatically know that they are seeing a Herring Heating and Air Conditioning vehicle. Even though we have updated our wraps to stay current in today’s market, we have also made an effort to stay true to our roots by keeping the overall logo and color scheme that was originally chosen nearly 50 years ago.
“The design is equal parts visually appealing, bold and simple. At a glance anyone can tell what Herring Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. is about and get the pertinent contact information. We have a patriotic color scheme to represent our love of this great country. The colors also complement and contrast well enough to make our logo easy to read at a glance. The logo and contact information don’t get lost in a busy, overly complicated design so that other drivers and pedestrians don’t have to spend a lot of time trying to search the information out.
“Our employees take great pride in the fact that they had a role in the overall design. I am very proud of what we have created.”

Hunter Super Techs
Ardmore, Okla.
“At Hunter Super Techs, our trucks are a huge part of our branding. They are basically moving billboards for us! Each truck represents our brand depending on what service division it is for. For example, purple is the color of our plumbing division.

Mercurio's Heating & Air Conditioning
Tacomo, Wash.
“This is a picture of one of our install vehicles. The character on the side is based on the original owner of our company. He's still working in the business and is well known in the area, which means that our vehicles get a lot of recognition mileage in our service area.”
– Angie White
Nixco Plumbing Inc.
Mason, Ohio
“At Nixco Plumbing Inc., we strive to provide our customers superior service with the highest level of quality. Our pink and yellow truck was created to go one step farther in serving our greater Cincinnati community. We help raise donations to two very special organizations that raise money for cancer research and help provide for those battling cancer: CancerFree Kids and Pink Ribbon Girls.
“The truck was designed to represent both pediatric and breast cancer. This is why one side of the truck is yellow and the other is pink with them coming together at the back of the truck. We hope that this truck inspires the community to support these organizations, just like the community has supported us for the past nearly four decades. Together, we can help flush cancer down the toilet!”

Pristine Plumbing
Irvine, Calif.
“Our Pristine Plumbing Inc. work truck attracts your visual attention by the flowing water on the front hood of the truck and the side panels as well. The water shows a force that is constantly flowing and remains uninterrupted. Water represents life and is crucial throughout the home. The energy of the water gives life to a dove that is rising from the depths of the ocean and soaring up to new heights. The flawless and graceful presence of a gentle spirit being.”
“This dove is a soloist and bursts with both strength and gentleness. The symbolism of peace, freshness and pristine cleanliness are vividly expressed. The vibrant shades of blue deliver hope, bright beginnings and “Getting our customers life back to normal.
“Pristine Plumbing embodies these words. The motto states “Plumbers Delivering Pristine Service.” Our customers count on us to deliver extraordinary service providing them with the most basic and necessary human need – water.”
– Richard Cadogan
Village Plumbing & Air
Houston, Texas
“Village Plumbing’s trucks display a design as timeless as the company itself. We wear our identity as a woman-owned business front and center and our trucks are not afraid to display Monica Ryan’s titles of CEO and Master Plumber. We’ve kept the design simple and striking, with a color scheme and font that is instantly recognizable wherever our trucks go.
“Each part of our company’s core identity is represented on our trucks, from our rich history dating all the way back to 1946, to Monica’s aforementioned titles. We also make it easy for people to reach us, with our 713-REPAIRS phone number front and center right alongside our website URL.
“Each of these pieces of information is displayed intuitively and catch your eye, without becoming so over-cluttered that it becomes distracting and your eyes don’t know where to look first. It’s simple, to the point, and effective.”
– Jonathan Richter
