HARDI member Charles D. Jones hosted U.S. Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins during a cookout at its Lawrence, Kan., facility last Thursday.
“It’s very telling that Congresswoman Jenkins takes the time to visit small businesses like us and become informed on the various perspectives of her constituents. We valued the opportunity to discuss some of the major issues at hand and how they impact us as a small business and HVACR wholesaler," said Charles D. Jones President Royce Henderson.
“When we met Congresswoman Jenkins at HARDI’s Fly In last May, we were impressed with the undivided attention she gave us as we discussed issues important to our industry,” said Charles D. Jones Director of Sales Ron Kinman. “When she came to our facility, she stayed for two hours – talking and listening to every customer at the event. I had several people comment to me that they felt she was educated on and sincerely concerned about their issues as small business owners in today's world.”
“Small businesses are the lifeblood of the Kansas and American economies. Frank conversations like the ones at Charles D. Jones are essential to hearing first-hand about the challenges facing small business owners so that I can ensure their priorities are my priorities,” said Congresswoman Jenkins. “I am proud to champion their cause in Washington, and will continue to fight against overregulation and big government so that small businesses nationwide have the opportunities they need to compete and grow.”
HARDI CEO Talbot Gee applauded C.D. Jones on developing the relationship. “I know that C.D. Jones’ leadership worked for several years to put an important visit like this together. Their persistence sets an example that I hope all HARDI members – and everyone in our industry – will follow,” he said.
