Walker Plumbing, Heating & Air has again partnered with 99.9 KONY Country to provide a family in need with up to $20,000 in plumbing or HVAC services, just in time for the holidays.
Bradley McCorkle, a representative for Walker Plumbing, Heating & Air, said they’re continuing the company’s giving spirit by taking nominations for either a full house re-pipe or replacement of an air conditioning or furnace system. Southern Utah residents can nominate themselves or someone else by using the nomination form at this link.
“What’s neat is that issues will be fixed for them completely and back to working condition, so they can be warm or cool again – whatever it is they need,” McCorkle added.
Technicians will visit the locations of the nominated homes to assess their needs, and then entries will go through a management review process in order to select a winner. The winner will be announced Nov. 21.
“When we do select a winner, we will show up at their house with a huge Christmas present-wrapped sign, a couple employees, a photographer and any media we can get out there to document the moment,” McCorkle said.
Walker Plumbing, Heating & Air held the same plumbing or HVAC giveaway, called “Walker’s Wish,” last year, and they’re looking forward to making a difference in the lives of another family this holiday season. Along with giveaways, the company does other charity events, such as an annual December employee food drive. The internal team competes to bring the most amount of donated goods, which enters them into a raffle. The grand prize employee winner receives an all-inclusive fishing trip.
“We consistently get at least a pallet of food each year, if not more,” McCorkle said about the food drive. “Last year we filled a whole van. It was pretty cool.”
