APR Supply Co. President and CEO Scott Weaver, along with fellow cyclist Lebanon-based attorney Jeff Arnold joined forces with Ameriprise Financial to raise almost $32,000 by participating in the 13th Annual Alzheimer’s Association – A Ride to Remember. This is Weaver and Arnold's third year.
The bicycling event took place July 9-11, 2021. The 252-mile ride began in Simpsonville, South Carolina, and concluded at Patriot’s Point in Charleston, South Carolina. This year was a return to an in-person ride format after last year’s virtual ride challenge due to COVID-19 restrictions.
This year’s three-day ride featured over 260 riders who together raised $671,742 for the Alzheimer’s Association, South Carolina Chapter funding research and other programs.
“Alzheimer’s has had a personal impact on my life, and I have witnessed the challenges that it brings. Participating in this ride, while challenging on a different level, is a way for me to push myself and help others at the same time,” said Scott Weaver, president and CEO of APR Supply Co.
Many of the riders have a personal connection to someone suffering from the disease and wrote the names of those they rode for on their racing bibs.
The Alzheimer’s Association leads the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
