Mason, Ohio-based Basco Manufacturing Co., a leading manufacturer of glass shower doors and enclosures, has announced that Steve Lotz has been promoted to the position of president, approved unanimously by the Basco Board of Directors. Lotz will continue to serve on the company’s executive committee and help develop and drive Basco’s growth initiatives.
Lotz has been a valuable team member at Basco for 27 years. First overseeing the manufacturing facility in 1994, then becoming the executive vice president of operations for 19 years and most recently being named CEO in 2019, he brings a wealth of manufacturing, engineering and leadership experience.
“Steve’s passion for results, backed by unmatched knowledge, experience and a talented leadership team will drive the continued performance that has made Basco the leading quality manufacturer in the industry today,” said Basco Chairman and CEO George W. Rohde. “I am confident in Steve’s leadership as we strive to double our growth over the next several years.”
In his new role, Lotz will be responsible for establishing the company’s annual and long-term strategic goals. His background includes a bachelor’s and master’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and nine years of experience in engineering at General Electric. Lotz has been married to his wife, Barbara, for 34 years and they have three children — Dana, Garrett and Connor.
