Uponor Receives David Weekley Homes Award

Uponor Receives David Weekley Homes Award

August 5, 2019

Houston-based David Weekley Homes, the largest homebuilder in the United States, has announced the winners of its annual Partners of Choice Awards, and Uponor North America (Uponor) was recognized for the fifth year in a row, this year receiving an ‘A’ ranking in quality.

In its 15th year, the Partners of Choice Awards recognize companies that participate in David Weekley Homes’ yearlong assessment and feedback program that collaborates with suppliers to consistently set high industry standards and drive continuous improvement. Of the 200 companies assessed in the supplier feedback platform, only six have won for the past five years in a row.

“All our national trading partners are focused on achieving excellence, but many have never received our award,” said Bill Justus, vice president of Supply Chain Services for David Weekley Homes and creator of the assessment program. “Our unique assessment system allows us a quantifiable way to measure world-class excellence. To win for five years in a row confirms that Uponor is world class in bringing quality products to our company and to our homeowners.”

Uponor began participating in the Partners of Choice assessment program in 2014 when David Weekley Homes started incorporating the Uponor AquaPEX plumbing system and the AquaSAFE multipurpose fire sprinkler system in all of its homes across the United States.

The program includes a customer portal unique to each supplier where companies can receive their feedback results from the current year as well as previous years to analyze and assess their progress.

“By providing our partners with the analytical tools they receive from the program, we can help them improve with us as well as their other customers,” said Justus. “Our suppliers tell us all the time that the program has improved their businesses and helped them become stronger competitors in the marketplace.”

Since its inception in 2004, the Partners of Choice assessment program is continuing to set new industry standards for quality and process improvement, seeing an average increase of 13 percent each year in supplier engagement and progress.

“Being one of the select few companies to be recognized for the past five years in a row is an incredible honor,” said Carl Hines, national builder sales manager at Uponor. “Participating in the Partners of Choice assessment program has been a great asset to Uponor, helping us on our quest to advance the plumbing and heating industry and further enhance our customer experience.”
