PPI Announces Snow, Ice Melt Webinars
The Plastics Pipe Institute, Inc. will conduct a webinar about hydronic snow and ice melting systems on Sept. 13 and Oct. 16, in conjunction with its education partner RedVector.
The new webinar, “Design and Installation of Hydronic Snow and Ice Melting Systems to Optimize Performance and Efficiency”, will be delivered by Lance MacNevin, P.E., director of engineering for PPI's Building & Construction Division “Now is the time to start thinking about next winter and what to do about all that snow,” MacNevin said. “Our webinar is developed specifically for mechanical engineers, designers, contractors, building owners, facility managers, and architects to assist in that decision-making process.
The one-hour webinars will address the following:
- How to efficiently and effectively clear slippery outdoor surfaces over a long winter without the high maintenance costs and the expense of harsh chemicals which can damage surfaces.
- Snow and ice melting systems can reduce liability while improving access.
- The safety, convenience and savings provided by hydronic SIM systems.
- How to provide for the aging population who need access to services, yet may have limited mobility.
- Why operating costs for a hydronic SIM system are often much less than mechanical snow removal, saving facility owners money while reducing risks.
