SupplyHouse.com Makes $75,000 Contribution to Support Skilled Trades

SupplyHouse.com, a leading e-commerce supplier for the heating, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical trades, is donating $75,000 to support the next generation of tradespeople after their online followers found a lot to "like" about their recent Trade Tuesday campaign.

SupplyHouse.com promised to donate $2 to the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC) and the PHCC Educational Foundation for every engagement on their Trade Tuesday social media posts. Between Nov. 25 and Dec. 5, the posts received over 37,000 combined likes, comments, and shares, amounting to a $75,000 contribution — its biggest contribution to date.

The donation represents a $15,000 increase over last year's Trade Tuesday donation and a 25% year-over-year increase in post engagement. The rapid rise in support speaks to SupplyHouse.com's recent efforts to cultivate an online community and create digital spaces for tradespeople to connect. SupplyHouse.com also celebrated Trade Tuesday with a social media giveaway featuring thousands of dollars in prizes — including $600 gift cards and branded SupplyHouse.com gear.

The $75,000 SupplyHouse.com gift will support several PHCC educational initiatives with the following goals:

• Educating the public of the opportunities in the trades at the PHCC—National Association’s workforce development website www.phccareers.org.
• Providing Foundation scholarships to apprentices and college students pursuing studies directly related to the plumbing-heating-cooling industry.
• Removing barriers for new entrants to explore industry careers in the PHCC Educational Foundation’s Plumbing and HVAC Workforce Readiness Course.
• Providing business owners with affordable introductory training for new hires with the existing Plumbing Pre-Apprentice Course and an HVAC Pre-Apprentice Course scheduled for release in late 2023.
• Powering the development of the Foundation’s upcoming Fast Track to HVAC Service Course, designed to help get an HVAC technician trained in 12 to 18 months.

Additionally, an allocation to the Foundation’s Invest in Your Future annual giving campaign will support a wide variety of workforce development initiatives, including Foundation foremen and project manager workshops and apprentice competitions.
