F.W. Webb Launches Remote Monitoring System for Fuel Dealers

July 26, 2022

F.W. Webb Co., wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating, HVAC, LP gas, refrigeration, pipe, valves and fittings in the Northeast, recently expanded its preferred agreement with Worthington Industries Inc. to offer its revolutionary SmartLid remote tank monitoring system to fuel dealers across the country.

SmartLid can be added to all Worthington tanks — both new and those already in place. It can also fit tanks — vertical or horizontal — from other manufacturers with either a simple hinge and latch kit or a mounting bracket. Powered by Otodata, an industry leading tank monitor technology, the monitor arrives pre-activated for easy installation without extra training. Once in place, the fuel dealer will have immediate, real-time access to all gas level data, with the following:

  • The monitor optimally positioned for a strong signal within a protective waterproof polypropylene casing
  • Two SIM cards in every monitor to deliver the user reception regardless of location
  • A lithium thionyl chloride battery with super capacitor provides a 15-to 20-year life span
  • The ability to fit vertical, horizontal and underground heating and system tanks

"With this solution, F.W. Webb can provide their LP gas customers the means to monitor fuel levels remotely," said Director of LPG Products Bobby Weinberg. "SmartLid will enhance the efficiency and profitability of their customers' operations."

"This is a great offering for Webb customers," added Vice President of Heating and LP Gas Sales Mike DelConte. "Time is money for fuel dealers, and this product means less time wasted in the field. The SmartLid app identifies exactly where and when fuel or service is needed."

The solution is available for immediate purchase by all F.W. Webb customers.
