New Chicago Faucets Brochure Highlights Options to Meet LEED Standards

Chicago Faucets, the leading manufacturer of commercial faucets, has published a 6-page faucet brochure that supports the water efficiency efforts advanced by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. The brochure, Low-Flow Electronic Faucets for LEED v4, discusses the new LEED v4 requirements and the corresponding Public Lavatory (Restroom) Faucet baseline levels. Specifications for Chicago Faucets products that comply with the criteria are given as possible solutions, such as the EQ Series, E-Tronic 40 and HyTronic Series faucets that deliver up to 30 percent reduction in water usage.

LEED v4, the newest version of the LEED certification requirements, provides guidance and standards for green buildings across nine categories. The Water Efficiency (WE) category comprises three major components: indoor water use, irrigation water and water metering. LEED v4 projects can earn up to 6 points for indoor water use reduction.

“The biggest change to the WE category is the elimination of the 0.25 gallons per cycle criteria for metering faucets. Under the current requirement electronic faucets must meet a 20 percent GPM reduction from the public lavatory baseline,” said Adam Molberger, product manager for Chicago Faucets.

Chicago Faucets also offers manual faucets that meet LEED v4, WE category requirements as well as water-saving private lavatory faucets, kitchen faucets and showerheads.
