UK Plumber’s $0 Invoice for Terminally-ill Woman Goes Viral

Zero-charge UK Plumber Launches Campaign to Provide for Elderly

November 27, 2019

James Anderson, who made the news after fixing a boiler for a 91-year-old woman with leukaemia for free, is planning to raise £30,000 ($38,000) to offer free services to 1,000 needy households this winter.

James runs a nonprofit plumbing firm Disabled and Elderly Plumbing and Heating Emergency Response (Depher). Since its creation in 2017 the company has helped more than 3,000 families. The work he did for free in September went viral after presenting an invoice on which he wrote: “No charge for this lady under any circumstances. We will be available 24 hours to help her and keep her as comfortable as possible.”

Depher currently offers services to people in Lancashire, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham and Scotland and hopes to expand across the United Kingdom.

People who have been helped by James have written letters of thanks to him and left comments on the Depher Facebook page.

Anderson has asked anyone wishing to donate to his cause to please visit: https://www.gofundme.com/f/depher.
